I grew up with Boingo! The first time I saw them they were still the Mystic Knights of the Oingo Boingo and were playing in Johnny Vatos' parent's garage in Palmdale. I never missed a Halloween show at Irvine Meadows.

It's funny, they became HUGE in the western US. They'd sell out multi-day arena engagements out here but on the same tour they'd play clubs in the east. Very much a west coast band. And of course Danny Elfman is a musical God.
